An Allegory of the Vanities of Human Life

'Vanity of Vanities, saith the preacher, all is vanity' (Ecclesiastes 12: 8).

This is a study in acrylics of Harmen Steenwyck's painting, 'Still Life: An Allegory of the Vanities of Human Life', which I did for my A2 level vanitas art project.

Unfortunately, due to the thickness of the sketchbook, it was tricky trying to scan this spread and get both sides of the page in focus... you can also tell by the specks of paint in the background that I didn't take particularly good care of this sketchbook...
